Mission 5,000 Books to Africa
Our ongoing “Mission 5000 Books to Africa” initiative is a testament to our dedication to promoting literacy and education across the continent. Through strategic partnerships and generous donations, we aim to distribute 5000 books to schools, libraries, and communities in need, empowering individuals with the gift of knowledge and fostering a culture of lifelong learning and discovery.
Join us in our mission to make a difference by partnering with us today. Together, we can create a brighter future for Africa through education.
Mission 5,000 Books to Africa
1. Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative (BBYDI) joined forces with One Young African (OYA) to pioneer a visionary teacher training program on climate change. Utilizing specially designed flashcards created by the OYA team, the initiative aimed to enhance literacy on climate-related issues. These flashcards were integrated into BBYDI’s climate change intervention program in Kwara State, Nigeria.
2. Embarking on a mission to empower young minds, One Young African partnered with Safety Club Kids to host an immersive storytelling event featuring the acclaimed author of “Zuri’s Quest: Managing Anxiety.” This engaging session provided a platform for Safety Club Kids to glean invaluable insights and practical strategies for navigating anxiety induced by school-related challenges, reinforcing resilience and well-being among participants.
3. Bolstering our commitment to literacy and education, Bavarde Foundation USA, under the visionary leadership of Florence Olushesan-Idowu, answered the call of OYA’s “Mission 5000 Books to Africa” initiative with unparalleled generosity. Through a donation of 145 books, Bavarde Foundation USA catalyzed profound impact across various fronts, including the provision of essential reading materials to esteemed beneficiaries such as the Lola Carter Foundation in Abuja, Nigeria (100 books), Talent Mine Academy in Ota, Ogun State (25 books) and Ibarapa/Eruwa’s Scholars Book Club (20 books).
